Hello there! My name is Marise, and I discovered my passion for hand-beaded embroidery as a means to bring cushions to life, creating bespoke pieces that can't be found anywhere else, offering something truly unique and one-of-a-kind.
Making cushions is my craft and passion, but sharing something unique and meaningful with others, that's what gives me purpose!
verstrooid?
The name verstrooid comes from the Afrikaans word "strooikussing," which means scatter cushion in English.
Verstrooid can also be translated as "scattered," which playfully ties back to the type and/or positioning of cushions.
I love things that are a little non-conventional, and the name has a slightly tongue-in-cheek feel (especially in Afrikaans) that reflects a bit of who I am as well.
